It’s now just less than 7 weeks until Christmas. Eeek! I have nothing, and I mean nothing organised yet. No presents, no baking, no holidays, nothing. I don’t even have a little stash of ‘small presents’ that usually accumulates during the year. So, this week I’m going to start my Christmas planning – at least a present list and a cooking plan/list (I’m going to make a lot of food gifts this year).
Although it had nothing to do with my menu plan, the food highlight of last week was visiting the Good Food and Wine Show – an annual exhibition of all sorts of food, wines and related products from around Australia. There were plenty of new products to try and a couple of my favourites were Smokin Stu’s dips (the Mushroom & Fetta and Smoked Salmon were the stars), Clownfish Wines (the Shiraz was fantastic) and Tasmanian Heritage cheeses. These shows are on in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane every year and are really worth the visit.
Apart from my Christmas planning, here’s the menu plan for the week:
Monday – Chicken & Mushroom Pie
Tuesday – Rice Paper Rolls with Char Sui Pork
Wednesday – Beef Rendang
Thursday – Mushroom, Pumpkin & Broccoli Risotto
Friday – Pizza
Saturday – Salt & Pepper Squid
Sunday – Lasagne
